A few months ago we launched a mini-league for Call of Duty:Black Ops that would pit the best of the communities mercenaries against each other in hard fought street-to-street combat. My vision for this event was simple – “Close Quarter Battles”. Continue Reading…
With the recent revelation that GAME had been buying up Tesco stock of the new Nintendo 3DS hand-helds, and then selling it themselves as pre-owned stock, at the same price as a brand new 3DS, I take a look at how waiting and buying pre-owned games could save us a pretty penny
“Gears of War: Exile”? What is this new trademark, and could we be looking at the next installment of the all-action franchise?
An Epic Games trademark and logo for Gears of War: Exile has been discovered, suggesting the development studio is working on more than just the third game in the multi-million selling franchise.
… or maybe that should read, the day my resistance to all things HALO fell.
You see, for some time now I’ve been completely avoiding the Halo series, particularly since the on-line multiplayer game developed into a bounce-fest of jumping and high-ranking boosters. That’s just my own opinion of course, but based on what I experienced none-the-less, and therefore what put me off altogether. I did buy HALO3, much like everyone else who were hoping for something as ground breaking as HALO2 was. But the day had darkened and I found myself in BlockBuster with a copy of HALO: REACH in my grubby gamer paws… Continue Reading…
Perhaps one of the most under-rated games of 2010, Aliens vs Predator is a jaw-dropping experience from start to finish. From its horror fest tension and shock-a-minute frights, to its well crafted missions and amazing characters; this game is truely stunning in what it has achieved.
After a few months break from multiplayer lobbies, I’ve spent what little time I can scrape together working through the solo campaigns of this master piece. I’ve just completed the Predator solo campaign and holy crap, it was intense. I’m not sure what I’m enjoying the most so far though – the rebirth of the ultimate survival adventure franchise that stole my youth, or just plain getting tooled up and stuck in.
Lock and load people, this is more than just a ‘bug-hunt’…

League Concept
To identify and bring OpFlash2 players together for quality multiplayer games, where players may have been previously limited to public servers due to having few fellow players within their own circle of contacts. This league is open to other gaming communities other than Project Echelon, but there must be an obvious relationship already in place to warrant invitation to take part.
The league has no special precursor story defined other than to draw on the game’s established plot of USMC vs PLA on the islands of Skira and Skirina. Players command and control a wide variety of multi-component, multi-weapon vehicles, including tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, APCs, attack and utility helicopters.

Not to be mistaken for Gordon Freeman on steroids
Two weeks after Dead Space released to glowing reviews in 2008, EA were already talking about a follow-up. Glenn Schofield, the then general manager of ‘Visceral Games’ said a sequal could be predicted based on the sales of the original installment. Further speculation of a possible sequal was fueled later in the year when EA posted a job advert stating development on a Dead Space “sequal” would beging “in the next few months”.
